My Nautilus

For those of you who don't know, the Nautilus is a sea creature related to the octopus. It's an ugly creature on the outside, but has beautiful mother of pearl on the inside of it's shell. It's shell grows in a perfect spiral. It's truely a natural wonder. The creature creates a chamber and lives in the shell's chamber. Once it outgrows the chamber, it seals off the old one and creates a new and bigger one that's directly proportional to the old one.

I found the Nautilus' growing process very poetic, because even though the past will always be carried around in the nautilus' shell, the nautilus has the ability to seal it off and create a mathetically phenominal spiral skeletal shape.
